LIVE – Trump Town Hall on Hannity
“Our nation is too divided. We talk past each other constantly, not to each other….I’m here to learn so we can remedy injustice in all of its very unattractive forms….becoming the nominee of the Party of Abraham Lincoln has been the greatest honor of my life.”
Trump said we need a new civil rights agenda for our time: “one that ensures the right to a good education and the right to live in safety and in peace.” He said it also means a government that protects our workers and fights for our jobs. “I want to rebuild our country and I want to rebuild our inner cities.”
“I fully understand that the African-American community has suffered from discrimination and that there are many wrongs which must still be made right. I want to make America prosperous for everyone.” He said he wanted to make cities like Cleveland, Detroit, and Baltimore the economic envy of the world with “new factories, new bridges, new roads, and new hope.”
Trump said he wants to take what he learned in business and traveling the world to helping people become prosperous who have never had the opportunity.
Former boxing promoter Don King introduced Trump. Former Presidential candidate Ben Carson was present and Trump promised him “a great place” in his administration if he wins. His speech was followed by a question and answer session, which was followed by a town hall that was taped for Hannity.
