In his foreign policy speech, Donald Trump outlined would will probably be go down as the Trump Doctrine: Destroy Radical Islam. Both former Mayor Rudy Giuliani and VP candidate Mike Pence gave introductory speeches, with Giuliani’s heavily focusing on Clinton’s failures.
Giuliani: RICO Clinton Foundation
In his introduction of Donald Trump, former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani called the Clinton Foundation a Racketeer Influenced Corrupt Organization, the words that form the acronymn, “RICO” in the RICO act. The RICO Clinton Foundation “was put together for Clintons’ personal enrichment, and selling America out to Russian oligarchs, to money launderers, and to crooks all over the world.” She turned “the State Department into a pay to the Clinton Foundation to play with the department racketeering enterprise,” he said. Giuliani told the audience to read Clinton Cash and said a chart of her crimes could fill 10 pages. “She has destroyed more emails than I have ever written.”
Giuliani said Clinton destroyed the emails because they show the connection the the Clinton Foundation, and the millions of dollars paid into it, as well as the millions of dollars in speaking fees to her husband.
“Donald Trump has the stamina, the intellect, and the strength to confront our enemies….no one doubts that…and he has the temperament to win. She’s running on her experience…if I were her, I’d be running away from my experience.” Giluliani said Clinton has been found extremely careless in handling top secret material. She would not be eligible to be hired in most government jobs, or even to work for a contractor that deals with the government. “But she wants to be President?”
Giuliani shifted gears to Mike Pence who he described as a perfect match for Donald Trump, “and they are both exactly what America needs.”
Pence: Make America Safe Again
Trump is a man who’s leadership and vision will make America Great Again. “While many in the media continue to major in the minors, focusing on semantics over substance, today, you will hear once again a man who will remain focused on the solutions to the real challenges facing the people of the United States of America.”
Trump: Radical Islam and the Age of Terror
“In the 20th Century, the United States defeated Fascism, Nazism, and Communism. Now, a different threat challenges our world: Radical Islamic Terrorism.”
“This summer, there has been an ISIS attack launched outside the war zones of the Middle East every 84 hours,” Trump said as he ran off a laundry list of atrocities from Ft. Hood; to the Boston Bombing; the shooting of Marines in Chattanooga, TN; San Bernardino; the Pulse Nightclub; the two attacks in Paris, the attack in Nice; Brussels, Germany, and Normandy, France.
“Overseas, ISIS has carried out one unthinkable atrocity after another.”
“We cannot let this evil continue. Nor can we let the hateful ideology of Radical Islam – its oppression of women, gays, children, and nonbelievers – be allowed to reside or spread within our own countries.”
“We will defeat Radical Islamic Terrorism, just as we have defeated every threat we have faced in every age before.”
“Anyone who cannot name our enemy, is not fit to lead this country. Anyone who cannot condemn the hatred, oppression and violence of Radical Islam lacks the moral clarity to serve as our President. The rise of ISIS is the direct result of policy decisions made by President Obama and Secretary Clinton.”
Trump compared the Middle East prior to the Obama-Clinton administration to how it is now. Beginning with Obama’s “apology tour” which emboldened our enemies, the Middle East is burning, Iran is on the verge of having nuclear weapons, and ISIS is spreading like a cancer.
“With one episode of bad judgment after another, Hillary Clinton’s policies launched ISIS onto the world.”
“Yet, as she threw the Middle East into violent turmoil, things turned out well for her. The Clintons made almost $60 million in gross income while she was Secretary of State.”
Trump vowed if elected, “the era of nation-building has ended,” and said “our new approach must be to halt the spread of Radical Islam.” Trump said he would call an international conference, partner with Israel, Jordan, and Egypt and work with NATO “and all others who recognize this ideology of death that must be extinguished.”
Trump said “we could find common ground with Russia in their fight against ISIS.”
“My Administration will aggressively pursue joint and coalition military operations to crush and destroy ISIS, international cooperation to cut-off their funding, expanded intelligence sharing, and cyberwarfare to disrupt and disable their propaganda and recruiting.”
Trump said the fight would not be restricted to ISIS but would include al Qaeda, Hezbollah, and Hamas as well.
Trump said he would also use ideological warfare. He vowed his “Administration will speak out against the oppression of women, gays and people of different faith.” He also said his administration would speak out against honor killings.”
Trump said our immigration policy “should only admit into this country those who share our values and respect our people.” Anyone who sympathizes with a terrorist group or thinks Sharia should supplant our Constitution would be screened out, he said.
“Those who do not believe in our Constitution, or who support bigotry and hatred, will not be admitted for immigration into the country.”
He said he would temporarily suspend all immigration from regions known to be associated with terrorism – that is the temporary ban on Muslim immigration. He said the size alone of current immigration flows are too large to screen properly. Clinton by contrast wants to increase the number of Syrian refugees by 550% – 620,000 of them at a lifetime cost of $400 billion. “In short, Hillary Clinton wants to be America’s Angela Merkel.”
Trump said “we need to restore common sense to our security procedures.” The 9/11 hijackers had fraudulent documents; the Russians warned us about the Boston Bombers, and the woman involved in the San Bernardino shooting wrote online rants in support of Jihad. The Orlando shooter celebrated 9/11 in his classroom. His father supported the Taliban. The Ft. Hood shooter “threw one red flag after another” to mental health experts just prior to the shooting.
Trump said one of his first acts as President would be to establish a Commission on Radical Islam, which would include Muslim reformist voices. The commission would identify the warning signs of radicalization and expose those who support it.
He said Guantanamo Bay would be left open, and human intelligence would be re-emphasized. Drone strikes would only be part of our strategy. “we will also seek to capture high-value targets to gain needed information to dismantle their organizations. Foreign combatants will be tried in military commissions.”
Anyone who supports terrorism would be subject to criminal and / or immigration charges. He said immigration officers would have their powers restored.
“we have to promote the exceptional virtues of our own way of life – and expecting that newcomers to our society do the same.”
